My son (13) says his skin is very itchy after his bath time, I even see him scratching his legs right now. His skin also gets real wrinkly, but what can I do to stop the itch?
He says its most itchy at his ankles, legs, knees, arms and back.|||By taking hot baths he is making his skin very dry, and his skin is getting wrinkly because he is spending too much time in the hot water. Tell your child to take showers with warm water, and to put lotion or baby oil in his body after taking a shower.|||I had chronic urticaria (hives) like a year ago, and my doctor prohibited me of using hot water when I showered.
It basically dries the skin and that%26#039;s what makes it itchy. You can try an oatmeal bath (in warm water), or some itch relieving body lotion (Aveeno has a great one. It smells minty but works wonders).
Good luck! :]|||Well maybe he has sensitive skin. unfortunately, if you take a hot bath, your skin will get dry causing the itching. My doctor told me to put body cream almost immediately after my shower. i had the same problem|||Umm just make sure the water isn%26#039;t too hot and the bath isn%26#039;t too long?|||Oils protect skin.Shower washes away oils,so no protection.
Use moisturizer.|||Lotion|||Really good lotion applied when the skin is still damp.|||hot water strips the skin of ALL it%26#039;s natural oils.|||Try soap with moisturizer. He probably just has dry skin|||Hot baths dry out your skin. I have the same problem. Lotion helps.|||maybe hot water irriates his skin, skin may get dry.|||you got hard water
but it,s still safe to use
