Is it normal for dogs to have bumps on their skin?

the other day i found a bump while petting my dog. i checked it out, and it%26#039;s not a tic or any kind of bug and it%26#039;s not a sore. i know that some people just have random bumps and they are harmless. does anyone know if dogs can have the same thing?|||just be cautious and if the bump gets any bigger, even a little bit..tell mom or sister and have it looked at. if you wait too long it could become something serious, if it is looked now you could save your baby%26#039;s life. btw this is the other Carly... i love how our avatars look a like. we must secretly be twins , we do have the same name hehe it%26#039;s so cool that i found you one here, i know it%26#039;s you because i looked at your 360 page

see ya|||I have an older dog (13 years)that has mole size bumps, a couple of them leak a clear liquid. The vet said that it is a normal aging thing. She also has a marble size lump on her belly that it a tumor. It is not cancerous and has not grown any larger in the last 3 years. The vet told me that it would be harder on her to remove it than to leave it because of her age.

I would just watch it and your dog to see how your dog is acting. But if you are concerned, have your vet check it out at your next visit, if your dog is not bothered with it.|||My shi-tzu does, she is obout 9yrs. old. Alot of old people have them too!|||my dog is a miniature schnauzer and that type of breeds get bumps called schnauzer bumps and supposively they aren%26#039;t suppose to hurt them|||my dog has tons of them and if i pick on them they acually come off but sometimes grow back i asked the vet and he said its normal and not to worry its like doggie pimples or skin tags what ever you want to call them they don%26#039;t hurt the pup in any way.|||Yes they do... it%26#039;s how my dog got skin disease. Visit a vet immediately.|||yes, some dogs can have blemishes on thier skin, but if it hardens or grows, I would have the vet look at it. keep an eye on your dog to see if it shows signs of irritation or discomfort. could be nothing, but just call the vet office and ask to make sure.|||Schnauzers do get %26quot;schnauzer bumps%26quot; that fit the description. They are harmless (so Ive been told by a breeder). I would say that if your worried about it, take him to the vet and find out for sure. If your not, wait a month or so and see if it goes away.

I suggest the vet though because it could be a tumor. My dog had one but it was bigger than a %26quot;zit%26quot;, but was malignant (or the other one?) (it was OK) and went away.|||This can be a problem or not!

A dog can have every disease that a human can have and more except one, appendicitis, because they don鈥檛 have the organ.

Now back to your question, from the above statement you can tell there is a multitude of tumors, cysts, and various little ickies that they can have.

Very often a small bump will be what I call a fatty tumor, they are usually benign and unless inside the rib cage or between the ribs, harmless.

But regardless, having a vet look at it won鈥檛 hurt, just in case.

You didn鈥檛 say where the bump is located, or the size, if it is hard or soft, does it move around when you push it on the side?

What does if feel like, could it be a scab? How old is the dog?|||its called nipples|||well yes actuly dogs can have moles too, but if the dog starts to yep in pain when you pet it(srry dont know if its a he or she) there then take it to the vet and have it checked out right away|||My lab has a bump on his skin, I asked my vet about it, he said the %26quot;bump%26quot; is a subasious cyst-harmelss in most breads of dogs, and known in labs, just to keep an eye on it and report if it becomes larger.

ALL breeds are DIFFERENT! BE SURE to check with your vet! Sometimes cancers start with a lump/bump. Do NOT mess with it, have it checked by a vet.|||No i dont think it is normal unless it like its spine sticking up my dogs spine you can see and it looks like bumps. u might want to take it to the vet. i luv animals and i would hate to see one get sick.|||could depend on what type of dog you have.and yes dogs can have the same thing. but to be on the safe side i would call a vet and ask.|||if it%26#039;s a bumpy dog it%26#039;s normal
