Why does your skin get itchy after taking a bath?

My youngest son (13) says his skin is very itchy after his bath time, I even see him scratching his legs right now. His skin also gets real wrinkly, but what can I do to stop the itch?

He says its most itchy at his ,ankles, knees, legs, arms and back.|||It%26#039;s either because of his skin or the water.

The next time he takes a bath, put in warm water and let him stay in for only 15 minutes or less. If it continues to get itchy, then take him to the doctor where they might give him a prescription. If none of these work, then stop giving him baths and give him showers. Good luck!|||Is probably the water, if the water is too hot it will itches skin or he didn%26#039;t wash clean enough, it can be the shampoo problem too. Maybe he is allergic to it or he stayed in the bath too long. 15 minutes long is the best. You can try change shampoo (I suggest Johnson shampoo, for baby because is for sensitive skin! and does not cost too much.) I hope this help!

p.s. AFTER 15min he took his shower, tell him to put some lotion on, it will help =)! Make sure is the cream or the other one will get messy and make it itch more.

Picture of shampoo: http://www.momsbudget.com/coupons/images/johnsonsshampoo.gif|||Because the oils in the skin get dried up and cause the skin to crack and thus making it itch. try a body wash with lotion like dove for a while and get away from the bar soaps they dry skin out faster and stay away from the scented kind also. This is going to gross you out but most bar soaps are made from animals dead skin. Ewww right?|||He may have eczema...its a skin condition.

A doctor can prescribe some good medicine for this, so you should take him to the doctor...or you can just tell him to put on some kind of moisturizing lotion when he gets out of the shower.

hope this helps...
