How easy would I find it to learn how to skin and prepare small game, as a novice hunter?

Hi! I am just starting to get into shooting, and would like to visit farmers near me to help them with pests. I%26#039;d like to eat what I shoot, but haven%26#039;t got a clue what to do with game once I have killed it.

What is the best way to learn, if I do not have anyone to show me directly? Would a video or guide book be sufficient? And what tools would I need to prepare rabbit/ pigeon etc? Thanks!|||To prepare small game animals the only equipment you%26#039;ll need is a good knife and some good game shears. I%26#039;ve attached links to a photo-guide for cleaning and cooking wild game, as well as a couple of good knives and shears. If you know someone who is a hunter, they can show you the best techniques for field dressing an animal. Good luck!

BTW - pests like fox and coyotes - don%26#039;t eat them. Squirrels, rabbits, raccoon, dove -those are good.
