How to warm up lotion so its not cold on the skin?

I have a 12 year old son, he gets extremely dry skin in the winter season, after his bath and he dries off, I use a good moisturizing lotion on him. But as soon as it touches his skin, he jumps up and starts shivering and says its so cold.

I don%26#039;t have a lotion warmer, is there anything else I could do to make it warmer so his skin can tolerate it?

Thanks|||How about keeping the bottle on a radiator or other heat source in your house, as these will not be so hot as to melt the bottle, and it will always be at the ready.|||dunk it in his bath with him and it%26#039;ll warm up in the warm water?

Or wrapit up in a warm towel while he is in the bath...

youre such a sweet mom! My parents never did that for me LOL|||Possibly run the bottle underneath hot water for about 20 seconds? Well actually any amount of time just make sure that the plastic bottle it%26#039;s in doesn%26#039;t melt|||Rub it in your hands before you put it on him. That should warm it up plenty.|||Whenever we give our son a bath we put the bottle of lotion in the bath with him. That way it gets warm while giving the bath and is ready to put on him afterwards.|||heat up a cup of water in microwave and set the lotion bottle down in it until it warm enough|||You could either rub the lotion briskly between your palms to create warmth through friction, or immerse the lotion bottle in a basin of hot water.|||I%26#039;m sorry but don%26#039;t you find it weird that you are still putting lotion on your son witch is 12....I%26#039;m sorry lady but i have a 7 yr. old and a 4 yr. old and i don%26#039;t dare to rub lotion on them, that can be considered child abuse.....you need to stop like 9 yrs. ago he is old enough to lotion his own body......god let the boy grow up.....and you need to come to your senses dang|||it sounds like you have made him into a wimp. apply the lotion, it will warm to his skin immediately.|||Place the bottle of lotion in hot water for a minute, then place the lotion in your hands and rub them together, thats what nurses do.|||put it in your hands and rub your hands together several times. Or since he%26#039;s 12 he probably puts the lotion on himself so he can do the same.|||put the bottle of lotion in the bath water while he bathes it will not be to cold or too hot.|||Put the bottle of lotion in the sink. Stop the drain, and turn on the hot water. I%26#039;ve done this to heat up both lotion and massage oil. Works like a charm. Oh, make sure the bottle is closed tightly.|||Put the bottle of lotion in a bowl of warm water. Make sure the lid is closed really tightly. It should warm it up in a few minutes.|||Rub lotion in your hands like you are warming your hands by a fire when it is cold outside or the Mr. Miyagi method I like to call it, lol! It works, I do it everyday after bathing my son and he smiles!|||Why in the world are you putting lotion on a 12 year old boy? He can%26#039;t take care of his own toiletries? Let him grow up.|||Put the bottle in a warmer place...warm it up under your arm...|||shouldn%26#039;t a 12 yr old be able to lotion himself up?

and why ask in the newborn/baby section... wouldn%26#039;t this be in general parenting or grade schooler?

he can warm it himself, rub it in his hands like the rest of us do.

or did you have a typo and meant 12 MONTH old son?|||While hes in the bath/shower put some in smaller bottle and put in warm water so it warms up.|||I think there is another reason why he jumps up and retreats when you start to put lotion on him, but he is just too embarrassed to say what it is. He has reached the age when he wants and needs his privacy, and for a very good reason. Back off, mom, and let him take his own bath and put his own lotion on if he feels he needs it. He is growing up. You shouldn%26#039;t even be in the bathroom with him any more.|||before the bath stand lotion in a pan of warm water|||I just squirt it on my hands, breathe on it, rub it in my fingers, and it%26#039;s good to go. You can also let the lotion bottle hang out in the tub to let it get warm in the water.

You seem to ask a lot of questions about your 12 year old son and bath time...very suspicious.|||i rub it between my hands to warm it up..seems to work good for me|||I agree with the first answer... but when I bath my 17 month old son I put his bottle of lotion in his water with him so its nice and warm for him when he gets out.|||Actually, when I was at the mall at a GNC (Good Nutrition Store/Vitamin Store) they were selling lotion warmers as a gift. They also sell simular items at adult stores... just make sure it%26#039;s not obvious what it is and I would say it%26#039;s safe to buy one.|||try warming it in the microwave for about 10 to 15 seconds.
