How do I remove skin from uncooked salmon pieces?

I took a couple of salmon pieces out of the freezer today and not sure how the best way to remove the skin. Does it have to be heated first?

Thanks|||You want it room temperature, then lay it skin side down and very carefully cut it off by making a long cut down the length of the meat just above the skin with a filet knife. A filet knife looks like this:

When the salmon is thawed lay it skin side down on your cutting board. You want to start with the tail end and work toward the head.Thinnest part to widest part of the fish.

Using a long sharp knife cut though fish and stop at skin(at a slight angle). Gently pull skin toward you as you gently push knife under the fish. This should take off the skin with very little waste.|||You can remove it once it%26#039;s totally defrosted with a very sharp knife, but it may just be easier to cook it with the skin on, because once it%26#039;s cooked the skin will come of very easily. You can still cook it anyway you were planning to.|||It will come off so nicely after it%26#039;s cooked and will cook better with it in some examples, but you can use an extremely sharp fillet knife.|||It will easily peel off when cooked.

Personally I love the crispy skin.

Edit

Cooking with the skin on helps keep the fillet intact.|||i am not totally sure, but I would use a sharp fillet knife and carefully remove the skin. It can be a little difficult if the fish has previously been frozen. Hope this helps :)|||Cook it first and then peel off the skin. That%26#039;s the best way.|||I say boil them a little.
